South Korean zombie horror flick Train To Busan was released in 2016 and became a massive blockbuster. Fans and critics appreciated the film that was helmed by Yeon Sang-ho and starred Gong Yoo, Ma Dong-Seok, Jung Yu-mi and Kim Su-an. After the success of the film, the makers are now all set with a sequel and is known as Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula. The trailer of the film has been launched.
The sequel has a soldier Jung-seok, who is pressurized to reenter the infected zone of zombies as he is assigned a covert operation. For those who do not know about Train to Busan, it is a film that showed a city where the population is slowly getting infected of zombies and the train that just left to Busan from the city has an infected person on board. The infected zombie then slowly begin to infect all the people in the train and at the end of the journey only two survivors on the train manage to reach Busan.
The sequel will see Jung-seok and his team see survivors in the city which will make things complicated. Peninsula is all set to be launched this summer but rest assured it will not be released unless the coronavirus pandemic slows down and things get back to normal. Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula is surely one of the most awaited films of 2020.
The film that was released in 2016 became the first Korean film that broke the audience record of more than 10 million movie goers. It also marked the return of Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi sharing the screen space again after they had worked together in The Crucible in 2011. Most of the film’s story takes place inside a train which by mistake gets infected by a zombie who infects others on the train.
