The coronavirus pandemic continues at nations across the world. But the good news is that the vaccines are also doing the rounds. Different campaigns across the globe are encouraging people to take the vaccines. However, there are still people who continue to remain away from the vaccine due to rumours and false reports. To address the concerns, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is ready to impose one of the strictest vaccine mandates that will help to deal with the hesitancy among the people to get their shots. The new measure is being taken to deal with the fresh Delta variant of COVID-19.
Now the people in Saudi Arabia will have to show proof that they have received at least one shot of the vaccine dose before entering a public or a private institution. They will have to show the proof with the help of a mobile app. From August 1, 2021 people will need to show a proof before they enter restaurants, schools, shopping malls, cafes, markets, concert venues or public transportation. From August 9, 2021 people of Saudi will have to provide a proof that they have received both the COVID-19 vaccine doses before travelling abroad.
The recent measure has been taken by the government of Saudi Arabia as the public officials in the United States and many other countries are also imposing vaccine policies as the number of COVID-19 cases are rising significantly due to the Delta variant. This week, the State of California and New York City became the first to introduce vaccine requirements for the public employees. On the other hand the countries like Italy, France and other European countries have also said that they will also be launching their health passes to people who have been vaccinated for the indoor venues like gyms and restaurants.
The authorities of the United Arab Emirates will be restricting the access to majority of the public places in August only for the vaccinated people.
