Neil Nitin Mukesh (Parag Dixit) who is living a dream life with a great job and his loving girlfriend Mugdha Godse (Maansi). He gets a well deserved promotion at his job and is all set to marry his girl friend Mansi (Mugdha). But fate has other plans. He gets wrongly implicated in crime which he is not part of and is subjected to a police custody first and then Thane jail. The only salvation he finds is in Manoj Bajpayee (Nawab) , a convict, who believes that Parag is innocent.

He tries hard to face away from the horrible reality and wish it’s all a bad dream but soon succumbs to the prison anarchy. The only salvation he finds is in Nawab, a convict and a warder who believes that Parag is innocent. Soon, Parag discovers the inner mechanism and the science responsible for the wretched status inside the prison and hordes of broken hearts and shattered souls which managed to find comfort amidst the four prison walls. He is left with a choice, to either live a life that controlled and exploited or fight against the system!

Madhur Bhandarkar yet again takes us right into the underbelly of a world we never knew existed like it is. With his well researched and authentic treatment, Madhur makes us feel the pain and anguish of what a person must be undergoing when he is put in jail. The dialogues are razor sharp befitting a Madhur Bhandarkar film and the large number of character actors carefully chosen justifying their parts with their natural act.

I give Jail 3.5 out 5
