Asia Bizz: Samsung electronics is in the news yet again. This time, it’s some happy news as the Asian giant has unveiled a tablet-smartphone hybrid device called the Samsung Galaxy Note for the first time ever, and the device will run on Android Gingerbread 2.3 operating system. Samsung has provided only a few details of the device as it will be launched in the near future.
The Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a 1280×800 super AMOLED 285ppi High Definition screen, the highest resolution compared to any other device in its range today.
Input for the device is supported through a stylus and it is powered by a 1.4Ghz dual core processor, making it fast and smooth. Samsung personnel have specifically highlighted on the fact that it is a cross breed device between a tablet and a smartphone.
To make applications run faster, the Galaxy Note has 1GB of RAM, combined with the dual core processor. Samsung is offering the device with LTE/HSPA+ technology along with WiFi, BlueTooth and GPS connectivity comes standard. As of now, South Korean company has not mentioned the dates about the launch and availability of the device in the market.
Currently, Samsung seems to be facing a whole deal of issues. After launching its much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, Apple Inc. filed a complaint in Germany to ban the device at the IFA electronics show. The new ban comes close on the heels of the August interim ban of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, which involved patent issues.
The war between Samsung and it’s American rival Apple seems far from over and there are reports that the South Korean electronics giant is currently working on it’s counter lawsuits, in the hopes that the future devices launched by the company remain unaffected by controversy.
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb and is reported to come with the highest resolution screen available in tablets in the market.
