After the success of the premium hatchback ‘Ford Figo’ in the Indian market, the company has launched a new variant of Figo on October 15, 2012. During the launch, the company said that with the launch of the new variant it expects to boost the overall demand of its cars which has gone down in recent times.
Michael Boneham, the Ford India President and Managing Directors said, “It’s a competitive market. Due to high inflation, consumer sentiment is down. We will start to see a turnaround hopefully with the festive season”. Boneham added that they are looking forward to plenty of sales and the order bookings are also encouraging.
The new Figo has been priced at Rs. 3,84,999 for the petrol version, and Rs. 4,81,999 for the diesel version, ex-showroom price Delhi. The company has also said that it will stop the production of its old Figo.
In the month of September, the company had reported a decline in sales by 8.29 percent at 9,418 units. The new Figo will be offered in two more colours and the new features will include a steering column mounted on radio controls with new 14 inch allow wheels, and will come with a two year or 1,00,000 km warranty on the car.
