Smartphone manufacturing giant HTC on October 8, 2013 announced that it is all set to unveil its new device for the Chinese market next week. Analysts are predicting that the latest device could be the first phablet from the company, called the HTC One Max.
HTC said that it is unveiling its new phone in China on October 15, 2013 and in Hong Kong on October 16, 2013. However, the device is not expected to be launched in Taiwan until October 18, 2013, at an event in Kaohshiung, in southern Taiwan.
The company also announced that the Taiwanese rock band Mayday will be attending the launch event, as they are the spokespersons for the Great China region. The invitation for the launch event came after the HTC One Max got its regulatory approval on September 30, 2013 from the National Communications Commission, which is the country's top broadcasting regulator.
The HTC One Max is expected to feature a 5.9-inch full-HD 1080p display, 2.3GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB of internal memory and a 3,300 mAh battery, as well as a finger print scanner. HTC is trying its best to survive in the competitive market as it has been struggling to reach set targets when it comes to revenue.
