One of the senior executives of Microsoft, Satya Nadella might soon become the new CEO of the tech giant and replace the current CEO Steve Ballmer. Media reports said on January 31, 2014 that the process of selecting the new leader at the US-based company are under way.
Reports claim that Microsoft’s board is all set to select Nadella as the new CEO. Nadella is an Indian born in Hyderabad and has completed his engineering from Manipal University, before he went to the United States for additional studies. In addition, the company might consider replacing Bill Gates as the chairman. The latest report came when Kara Swisher – known for publishing breaking stories – wrote about it on the technology website Re/code.
The report from Swisher said that Nadella has been finalized as the new CEO of the US software giant and also mentioned that a formal announcement regarding the latest news is expected in the next few weeks. The report said, “And, at this moment, those who have watched the process think that insider Satya Nadella, who is currently leading its enterprise effort, is the likeliest internal candidate to prevail.?
At present, Nadella is the president of server and tools business at the tech giant. He landed his current assignment in 2011 and before that, he was the senior vice-president of R&D for the online services division.
